'Diabetes' to me was a disease which people only got if their parents or grandparents had it, but I was wrong. I learned about it only after I got it.
How I came to know about my diabetes is also interesting. One day some 20 years ago I suffered from a feeling of fainting sensation which left me shattered as I had never felt so.
That time was given ice cream and had immediately felt better. I was told by people around me that such things happen in the case of low sugar levels.
I immediately went to see the Diabetes Specialist doctor, got tests done and tests confirmed diabetes. Medicines started. That time, my Diabetes specialist doctor had suggested I have roti prepared from Jav which I did not follow and kept having medicines.
Over a period of time, it was noticed that I had fluctuating sugars. I also suffered from gangrene and I had to undergo 2 amputations - the left big toe and the other of the right little toe. By this time, I was on 30 units of insulin in a day.
I got to know the Diabetes Reversal Specialist Organization i.e. Freedom From Diabetes through my son-in-law. He himself had enrolled and recommended I join FFD's Diabetes Reversal Program. Since my wife also was a diabetic, we both decided to join Diabetes Reversal Program I.e. HTP.
The journey at FFD was amazing. The importance of the 4 Diabetes Reversal protocol diet, exercise, and mental peace for well balanced and good health was explained to us in a beautiful way. It was interesting to see the immediate results in sugar levels after the stoppage of Milk and Dairy products.
Diabetes-Friendly Smoothie was doing its right job making me lighter day by day. Almost 10+ years of 30 units of Insulin stopped in just 1 month. I am now medicine-free also which has stopped just 2 weeks ago. Weight has come down from 67 kg to 58.4 kg (I was never really obese).
Exercise routine includes long walks twice a day and am very active now. Looking back, I feel my diabetes was due to the wrong lifestyle. I used to eat a lot of sweets and did no physical activity at all.
All-in-all, in my case I think it was a lifestyle disorder as there is no family history from either side. At FFD, I learned that one should not take things for granted and must adapt to good habits in connection to eating and exercising without neglecting the mental and emotional aspects of a healthy being.
All thanks to FFD.
